On behalf of the Calgary Region Community Board Persons with Developmental Disabilities, we welcome you to our website.

The purpose of the Calgary Region PDD website is to share information about good services, how to access those services and how to share in community living.

When we conducted a Communications Survey in March 2006, we learned that adults with developmental disabilities and their support networks are interested in learning more about accessing the resources to participate in community life.

We have included clear and timely information about:

• Calgary Region PDD Board members and activities

• Calgary Region PDD staff and service providers and how to contact them

• PDD services and how to access those services

• Self-advocates and their success stories

• PDD policies in plain language

• Resources for employment, education, community access and advocacy

• Notices of upcoming events and meetings

• Training opportunities for staff, individuals and families

But most of all, the website provides resources and tells the story of how individuals with developmental disabilities are strengthening the community with their positive attitudes, determined work ethic and goal setting abilities.

We are proud of their achievements and even more pleased to share them with you.
